Help & FAQ

Is the CV builder free?

Yes. Choosing a template, writing and editing your CV, and the checklist are free. Sign in to save CVs to your account.

How do credits work?

Credits are a one-time purchase on the Pricing page, priced in your market’s currency (Naira, dirhams, pesos, pounds or Canadian dollars). AI tools such as cover letters and AI bullet rewrites use credits. Downloading a finished CV as a PDF can use one credit per CV; downloading the same CV again is free. Credits never expire.

What is the checklist score?

It is not a prediction from any employer’s applicant tracking system (ATS) — nobody outside the employer can see that. It counts how many of our format checks your CV passes: a text-based file, contact details in the body, standard section headings, a single-column layout and similar. Use it to catch problems before you apply.

Are the templates ATS-friendly?

Templates marked “ATS-safe” are single-column with standard headings, which parsers read reliably. “Designed” templates with sidebars or photos look great for human readers but some ATS software reads them less reliably, so we warn you before you download one.

What happens to my data?

Drafts you build while signed out stay in your own browser. When you sign in and save, your CV is stored in your Handmework account so you can edit and download it later. See the Privacy Policy for how your data is used. You can delete your account at any time.

Which file formats can I download or upload?

You download a text-based PDF that matches the on-screen preview. To start from an existing CV, you can upload a PDF or Word (.docx) file, or paste the text.

Can I use my CV to apply for jobs?

Yes. Once your PDF is ready you can apply anywhere, including live roles on Handmework across Nigeria, the UAE, the Philippines, the UK and Canada.
